The Blair Athol 2007 – 100 Proof Exceptional Cask Edition #9 is an intense and characterful single malt whisky from the Eastern Highlands, bottled by Signatory Vintage. Distilled in 2007 and bottled in 2025 after 17 years of maturation, this whisky was matured in first-fill Oloroso sherry butts.
Bottled at a robust 57.1% ABV (equivalent to 100 British Proof), this Blair Athol is bottled at its full strength – naturally non-chill filtered and with its natural color.
Nose: Orkeney Signatory 100 proof n°30 whisky offers rich aromas of ripe fruit, honey and vanilla, with a subtle hint of smoke. Feel: On the palate, there are notes of caramel, pear and spice, with a velvety texture and lovely complexity. Finish: The finish is long and warm, leaving lingering notes of dried fruit and oak on the palate.
Nose: Aromas of vanilla, caramel and tropical fruit emerge delicately. Mouth: On the palate, there are notes of cereal, honey and black pepper, with a creamy texture. Finish: The finish is long and aromatic, leaving a warm sensation of toasted oak and sweet spices.
Nose: Auchentoshan 1988 PX Finish reveals sweet notes of fig and raisin, followed by aromas of caramel and vanilla. Feel: On the palate, this single malt reveals flavors of candied fruit, dark chocolate and dried fruit, with a touch of toasted oak. Finish: The finish is long and warm, leaving notes of honey, spice and ripe fruit on the palate.
Nose: A bright and vibrant start to this dram, there are notes of green apples, gorse bush, wine gums, and a mineral note.
Palate: The palate is well balanced with a touch of peat smoke, and sweet notes of icing sugar and white chocolate. Notes of tomato plant, sunflower seeds and linseed oil develop.
Finish: The finish brings notes of honey and gooseberries.
Aroma: A rich sherry character – raisins, dried fruit, chocolate, accompanied by orange zest, roasted hazelnuts, and a subtle hint of leather.
Palate: Full-bodied and complex with flavors of treacle pudding, fig jam, candied citrus, cocoa with clove, roasted almonds, and a touch of licorice.
Finish: Long, warming, and slightly dry with lingering notes of sherry fruitcake, sweet oak, and a final hint of dark chocolate and spice.
