Nose: Sweet, vegetal (asparagus), peaty, smoky, smoked fish, complex.
Mouth: Burnt peat, malty, dried fruit, a hint of licorice.
Nose: Cracked black pepper, dried pine resin and smoke.
Mouth: Chocolate, creosote, tar and savory meats.
Finish: Long, salty and mouth-coating.
Nose: Intense with a burst of charcoal, creosote, tar and molasses caramel, with curious herbal notes, such as fennel, celery and green peppers. Once these disappear, there are notes of milk chocolate, anise and wood smoke.
T: Molasses caramel, anise, salted caramel chocolate, eucalyptus, menthol and briarwood, to name but a few. The 'tingling' and peppery mouthfeel continues, with sweeter flavors giving way to more savory notes like charcoal, smoky bacon, toast and tar.
Finish: The aftertaste is long and lingering, with a touch of peppermint and clove.
Nose: Round, subtly smoky, creamy caramel, anise, molasses and date.
Mouth: Soft, creamy, syrupy and suave. Notes of caramel, anise, orange, smoked tea, sweet spices (nutmeg and cinnamon), subtle cigar smoke and a very unusual aroma of grilled artichoke.
Finish: long, seductive, subtle but intense.
Nose: Powerful and incredibly aromatic, notes of chocolate, blackcurrant, heavy notes of leather, bacon. More delicate floral aromas of violet and lavender.
Mouth: oily on the palate, releasing peppery, Espresso and dark fruit aromas (blackcurrant, blackberry, cherry, plum). A hint of aniseed punctuates.
Finish: Long and persistent. Aromas of hot sauce, coffee and black cherries.
Palate: Spicy and warming with cinnamon, star anise, and a touch of licorice. Sweet notes of cooked dates, honeycomb, and dark chocolate are balanced with dried fruit, lemon zest, and a hint of saltiness from nuts and herbs.
Nose: Rich and complex, with gentle smoke, notes of apricot, raisins, dates, and stewed apple. Orange marmalade provides a citrusy freshness, while a splash of water reveals earthier nuances of mushrooms, pine needles, capers, and olives.
Finish: Long and complex, with smoky applewood, dry tobacco, wood-fire embers, and rich peat oils.
Nose - Intense aromas of smoked cinnamon and paprika, antique leather and saddle soap. A distant hint of a fragrant bonfire by the shores of the distillery and, finally, an unusual savoury note, like chilli-seasoned meats. A little splash of water releases some beautiful, unexpected aromas: lavender scented soap, ground white pepper, floral and herbal notes entwined. Fresh flowers mix with coriander leaves and mint.
Taste - A powerfully salty mouthfeel drifts into sweet vibes of treacle toffee, vanilla popcorn, salted fruits (peaches) with soot and tar. Again, those distinctive savoury notes of smoky BBQ, paprika and mustard spice, fading into an unexpected haze of smoked pears and apples, almost like pear cider.
Finish - Smoked paprika and bonfires with a mellow sweetness throughout.
Nose: Ardbeg Smokiverse offers intense aromas of peat smoke, sea salt and medicinal notes typical of Islay whiskies.
Mouth: On the palate, this single malt reveals powerful, complex flavors of peat, black pepper, licorice and dried fruit, accompanied by an oily texture and a touch of vanilla.
Finish: The finish is long and persistent, giving way to notes of peat smoke, burnt oak and citrus zest.
Nose: Beautiful notes of lavender, vetiver and incense candles. There's a touch of leather, a little almond and a hint of wax. A drop of water opens up the aromatic spectrum, revealing hints of wood smoke, damp peat, a hint of menthol and more old leather.
Mouth: Salty and creamy, savory, eucalyptus oil, salted caramel, smoked pecans, wood smoke, creosote and tar. There's also a background of sweetness, like smoked pear crumble and a bit of fudge.
Finish: Notes of leather, salted caramel and a refreshing menthol sensation.
Nose: Round and powerful with notes of peat, Sherry and dates, as well as leather, malt and honey.
Mouth: Sweet and oily with lots of suppleness. Becomes smoky, with hints of meat and olive.
