This organic whisky meets the strict standards of the renowned Soil Association for the cultivation of ingredients, distillation, aging and bottling.
Launched in 2006, Benromach Organic is still unique today. Above all, it's the wood used for maturation that produces these well-balanced organic single malts.
nose : Blooming heather and distant bonfire smoke. Soft notes of barley sugar and freshly baked bread are brightened with hints of lemon zest and green apple peel, underpinned by delicate florals. Peat smoke is present but restrained.
palate : A symphony of honeyed malt, toasted grain and a distinctive earthiness greet the palate. Orchard fruits, citrus and a touch of vanilla sweetness follow, whilst delicate threads of smoke and salinity weave through the malt, providing a gentle counterpoint to heather and coconutty gorse.
finish : A medium-length finish of sweet barley, accompanied by subtle floral notes, which give way to the gentle smokiness of a beach bonfire. Citrus and a touch of minerality linger on.
A full-bodied, rich and spicy 12-year-old single malt whisky. Slightly dry on the finish, with an abundance of sherry notes and a hint of herbal menthol. An interesting whisky with an unusual aftertaste.
Nose: A herbaceous, floral note immediately reveals itself through aromas of tomato plants and heather, accompanied by a hint of morello cherry and smoked bacon.
Mouth: Sweet and savory meet, with notes of smoked ham, raspberry jam and honey.
Finish: Characteristic coastal notes appear on the finish.
Nose: Sweet and rich, with fruity aromas suggesting baked apple, pear and peach. These are soon joined by a rich caramel note, reminiscent of sweet butterscotch. All these aromas are mellow, round and mouth-watering.
Mouth: Firm and full-bodied, richly fruity from the start, the powerful, fresh taste soon becomes deliciously sweet and salty, with a hint of salt amid the spicy intensity.
Finish: Quite long, it finishes smoothly, dry, slightly spicy and slightly refreshing.
