This 17-year-old single malt is truly unusual. For the first time, it has been aged exclusively in American oak Hogshead casks. This gives it a spring-like, fruity, honeyed and sweet character.
Nose: Six Isles n.a. whisky reveals peaty, marine aromas typical of Scotland's Islay region. Feel: On the palate, this blended malt reveals notes of smoke, salt and spice, characteristic of Islay whiskies. Finish: The finish of Six Isles n.a. is long and persistent, leaving peaty, saline flavors on the palate.
Nose: Spicy and savory, with notes of Marmite, burnt toast, endive, charcoal and coffee. The herbaceous Ardbeg top note is very present, and is complemented by aromas of smoke and molasses.
Mouth: The spicy mouthfeel gives way to a host of rich, smoky flavors of cocoa powder, dark chocolate, caramelized peanuts and smoky lime, with a hint of soot and embers. Anise and malted cookie come to the fore.
