The Maritime malt

Nose: Intense but balanced. Dried fruits, ripe apples and citrus, with a sweetness of honey and vanilla. Slight chocolate and floral in the background.

Mouth: Fragrant spices and Christmas cake, hints of chocolate and caramel.

Finish: Beautiful, elegant and marked by a hint of saltiness.

Nose: Craigellachie 17 Year Old offers intense aromas of ripe fruit, honey and vanilla, with a subtle hint of smoke.

Mouth: On the palate, this single malt reveals notes of baked pears, caramel and sweet spices, followed by hints of oak and dried fruit.

Finish: The finish is long and warm, leaving lingering notes of fruit and wood, with a slight hint of smoke.

Nose: Very distinctively oily, with touches of extra virgin olive oil, sweet briar wood, aromatic herbs (coriander & sage) and a suggestion of smoked lemon peel. A splash of water releases more oiliness, like linseed oil, a gentle waxiness, and a burst of perfumed, aromatic carbolic soap, and finally, a whiff of crème brulee.
Mouth: A soft, oily, mouthcoating texture leads into a rich, sweet, smoky palate, with hints of oak moss, treacle, aniseed lozenges and a lovely, sweet, woody/balsamic flavour. This is then followed by smoked apricots and eucalyptus oil.
Finish: Finally comes a lingering, sweet/smoky aftertaste, with a touch of cumin, cardamon and the merest hint of coconut.

Nose: Manuka honey, worn leather and chocolate, with roasted hazelnuts, raisins and burnt orange peel.
Mouth: Intense peat, honey and mocha, followed by smoky spices, roasted chestnuts and charred oak.

Nose : Approachable and rich. First polished wood and nuts (toasted hazelnut) dominate, then stewed fruits (baked apples), dried fruits (sweet dates), and soft brown sugar take over. Mossy too, after a while.

Palate : Sweetness and crunchy nuts impress at first, then there’s a smooth, fruity Speyside richness to enjoy. Firm, with a balancing sweetness. Brown sugar and espresso coffee. Warming and pleasant.

Finish : Medium to long, elegantly drying and crisp, completed by a pleasant, sweetly nutty chew-ability.

Nose: Green apple, grapefruit, honeysuckle and oak.

Mouth: Elegant notes of toasted oak, cigar box, apple and currant.

Finish: Long, with tobacco and sweet peat.
