The one and only New Orleans original. Sazerac Rye Whiskey symbolizes the tradition and history of New Orleans. Rye Whiskey dates back to the 1800s, when saloons began lining the streets of New Orleans. It was at the Sazerac Coffee House on Royal Street where local customers were served toddies made with Rye Whiskey and Peychaud's Bitters. The cocktail became known as the 'Sazerac' and the first American-branded cocktail was born. It was the whisky that started it all.
Nose: Old Grand Dad n.a. reveals subtle aromas of vanilla, caramel and toasted oak. Mouth: On the palate, notes of dried fruit, cinnamon and a hint of black pepper. Finish: The finish is long and warm, giving way to woody and spicy flavors.
A well-balanced bourbon with a delicate body. Notes of vanilla and caramel are complemented by a touch of white oak tannins. This is further blended with dried fruit to deliver a richly sweet flavor.
