The name of this Kentucky Straight bourbon comes from Baptist preacher Elijah Craig, whose legend has it that he distilled and stored his whisky in his barn, which one day caught fire. Undaunted, he continued to use the charred casks for his distillates, discovering that this altered their color and aroma. This discovery earned him the title of 'Father of Bourbon'. As the name suggests, this 'Small batch' is produced every year, but in limited quantities. The master distillers at the Bernheim distillery in Louisville, Kentucky, select a maximum of 100 of the finest casks.
