The Macallan Harmony Amber Meadow collection is the third limited edition in an innovative series released each year. Amber Meadow was created in collaboration with Stella and Mary McCartney to celebrate the lush, fertile lands of Scotland.
The Whisky Mastery team also drew inspiration from Scotland's natural meadows to create a single malt aged in sherry and bourbon oak casks, strongly reminiscent of warm meadows and ripe barley fields with a rich lemon-scented finish.
Nose: Rich, with classic Arran apple notes. Lots of orange peel, tart citrus and sweet oak. Palate: Rich, full-bodied and unctuous. Abundant orange peel and bitter citrus. Slight hints of vanilla brioche and dark chocolate. Finish: Smooth and long. Coats the mouth. Again, lots of citrus, more oaky with age, with a subtle touch of dark chocolate and black cherries.
Nose: Mortlach 12 Year Old reveals rich, complex aromas of ripe fruit, toffee, vanilla and subtle woody notes.
Mouth: On the palate, this whisky has a smooth texture with flavors of dried fruit, honey, cinnamon and dark chocolate, all wrapped up in a gentle spicy warmth.
Finish: The finish is long and warm, leaving lingering notes of candied fruit, smoky oak and toffee. An elegant, well-balanced single malt that will delight lovers of complex, refined whiskies.
This 17-year-old single malt is truly unusual. For the first time, it has been aged exclusively in American oak Hogshead casks. This gives it a spring-like, fruity, honeyed and sweet character.
