Benriach owes its creation to an exceptional heritage dating back to 1898, when founder John Duff built the distillery. Built on the grounds of the former Riach farm in northern Speyside, the Benriach distillery draws its water from a mineral-rich spring gushing up from deep underground. A long tradition of distilling classic unpeated, intensely peated and triple-distilled whiskies, as well as a vast choice of casks from around the world, has given the whisky makers the freedom to explore the richness and multitude of single malt flavours, and to craft some of the most complex whiskies in Speyside. This tradition is carried on today by master distiller Rachel Barrie.

Finish: The finish is long and lingering, marked by notes of pepper, candied fruit and vanilla, leaving a warm mouthfeel.
nose : Blooming heather and distant bonfire smoke. Soft notes of barley sugar and freshly baked bread are brightened with hints of lemon zest and green apple peel, underpinned by delicate florals. Peat smoke is present but restrained.
palate : A symphony of honeyed malt, toasted grain and a distinctive earthiness greet the palate. Orchard fruits, citrus and a touch of vanilla sweetness follow, whilst delicate threads of smoke and salinity weave through the malt, providing a gentle counterpoint to heather and coconutty gorse.
finish : A medium-length finish of sweet barley, accompanied by subtle floral notes, which give way to the gentle smokiness of a beach bonfire. Citrus and a touch of minerality linger on.
Nose: Glenmorangie A Tale of Ice Cream reveals sweet, creamy aromas, reminiscent of vanilla and caramel. Feel: On the palate, this whisky reveals notes of vanilla ice cream and tropical fruit, with a touch of white chocolate. Finish: The finish is smooth and creamy, leaving a sensation of freshness on the palate.
Nose: Very distinctively oily, with touches of extra virgin olive oil, sweet briar wood, aromatic herbs (coriander & sage) and a suggestion of smoked lemon peel. A splash of water releases more oiliness, like linseed oil, a gentle waxiness, and a burst of perfumed, aromatic carbolic soap, and finally, a whiff of crème brulee. Mouth: A soft, oily, mouthcoating texture leads into a rich, sweet, smoky palate, with hints of oak moss, treacle, aniseed lozenges and a lovely, sweet, woody/balsamic flavour. This is then followed by smoked apricots and eucalyptus oil. Finish: Finally comes a lingering, sweet/smoky aftertaste, with a touch of cumin, cardamon and the merest hint of coconut.
