15 ans d'âge derives its distinctive rich, exotic character from a selective maturation process in which some of the alcohol is matured in French oak barrels. The Limousin oak used is cut in the Dordogne region, where it is often used for maturing cognacs. Its low density allows the whisky to sink deeply into the wood, and enables the maturation time of the whisky to be carefully controlled.
