Fettercairn (Gaelic: at the foot of the mountain) was one of the first distilleries to obtain an official distilling license in 1824. Since 2018, bottlings have been characterized by a welcoming fruitiness. Distillery manager Stewart Walker has been voted Distillery Manager of the Year 2021 by the Icons of Whisky. So it's high time you got to know the unicorn.
Nose: Sweet and delicate, a little spicy and deeply exotic. Viney, suggesting white grapes and Manzanilla sherry, then becomes lush, floral and fruity. A hint of vanilla caramel gradually appears. A drop of water lifts the citrus notes and adds hints of sweet caramel.
Mouth: The texture is soft and creamy, the taste is slightly sweet and fruity. It then becomes more lively, with acidity and spicy, peppery, drying tannins. A drop of water initially brings out the fruitiness without diminishing the spice.
Finish: Medium to long, finishing on a dry, tongue-tingling, warmly spicy note with fruity acidity and a pinch of white pepper.
Nose: Ballantine 21 Year Old offers complex aromas of honey, dried fruit and vanilla, with a subtle hint of oak.
Feel: On the palate, this Scotch whisky feels smooth and creamy, with notes of ripe fruit, cereal and toffee. The texture is silky and velvety, offering a rich, balanced taste experience.
Finish: The finish of Ballantine 21 Year Old is long and warm, leaving notes of oak, dried fruit and honey on the palate. An elegant, refined whisky, perfect for lovers of complex, balanced whiskies.
