The Limited release presents a unique opportunity to directly compare the effect of Bourbon and Sherry casks on whisky distilled in specific years at Tomatin Distillery.
Nose : Approachable and rich. First polished wood and nuts (toasted hazelnut) dominate, then stewed fruits (baked apples), dried fruits (sweet dates), and soft brown sugar take over. Mossy too, after a while.
Palate : Sweetness and crunchy nuts impress at first, then there’s a smooth, fruity Speyside richness to enjoy. Firm, with a balancing sweetness. Brown sugar and espresso coffee. Warming and pleasant.
Finish : Medium to long, elegantly drying and crisp, completed by a pleasant, sweetly nutty chew-ability.
Nose : Crisp orchard fruits, green pear, apple skin, vanilla cream, and fresh-cut grass. Hints of citrus zest and soft malt biscuits emerge with air.
Palate : Bright, clean, and lively. Notes of lemon peel, sweet malt, soft honey, white grapes, and light floral tones. A touch of white pepper and oak spice adds complexity, while the youthful vibrancy remains intact.
Finish : Medium-long with lingering citrus, soft herbal notes, and gentle sweetness. Light, fresh, and beautifully Speyside.
Nose: Fresh, sweet fruitiness of lemon zest and white grape, exotic (pink grapefruit and ripe mango). A particularly spicy, woody note hovers above. A drop of water dries out these aromas and introduces a pinch of white pepper.
Taste: Creamy, full texture with a sweet flavor. Fruity and malty behind that homemade rum caramel, exotic notes of spicy pineapple and green banana, made even more palatable by spicy, dry oak.
Nose: Glenmorangie Cavaldos Finish reveals sweet aromas of caramelized apples, vanilla and dried fruit. Feel: On the palate, this whisky reveals notes of ripe apples, pears, toffee and cinnamon, with a touch of nutmeg. Finish: The finish is long and spicy, marked by subtle notes of oak and red fruit.
Nose: Royal Lochnagar 12 Year Old offers complex aromas of ripe fruit, honey and vanilla, with a touch of malt and oak.
Feel: On the palate, this Highland single malt reveals rich flavors of candied fruit, caramel and hazelnut, followed by spicy notes of cinnamon and pepper.
Finish: The finish is long and warm, with a subtle woody note and a light touch of smoke, leaving a sensation of softness and elegance on the palate.
Nose: Sweet cinnamon and maple. A seductive attack, followed by notes of cocoa powder, cranberry and blackcurrant.
Palate: On the palate, red fruit notes dominate, accompanied by subtle hints of strawberry chewing gum, caramel pudding and blackberries.
Finish: The finish reveals a hint of hazelnut and nutty aromas.
