Nose: Overall dry, vinous impression supported by spicy, woody notes. Seductive aromas of tart red berries, vanilla, a hint of wax. A little water softens the nose and relaxes the aroma, without much alteration.
Mouth: Ultra-unctuous, gourmet texture. Barley sugar, pinch of salt, suggestions of currant and crunchy grape. At reduced strength, it's not as tart, but still spicy; the sweetness is enhanced but the mouth-watering spicy heat remains.
Finish: Long and dry with pepper and mild spice. With milder water, now with a trace of fondant in the aftertaste.
This rare expression bewitches with a sumptuous character, matured for eight years in wine casks. The glass shimmers with glimpses of deep amber. Aromas of red wine, oak spice and fruit create an even pace, while the sweetness of barley sugar balanced by salt and crunchy currant sings with a rich, velvety voice. Ultra-creamy through and through, the palate seduces with a peppery finish, like a bewitching kiss of silky spice.
Nose : Crisp orchard fruits, green pear, apple skin, vanilla cream, and fresh-cut grass. Hints of citrus zest and soft malt biscuits emerge with air.
Palate : Bright, clean, and lively. Notes of lemon peel, sweet malt, soft honey, white grapes, and light floral tones. A touch of white pepper and oak spice adds complexity, while the youthful vibrancy remains intact.
Finish : Medium-long with lingering citrus, soft herbal notes, and gentle sweetness. Light, fresh, and beautifully Speyside.
Nose: Benriach Malting Season reveals delicate aromas of malted cereals, ripe fruit and honey. Feel: On the palate, this single malt reveals notes of creamy vanilla, sweet spices and toasty oak. Finish: The finish is long and warm, giving way to lingering flavors of dried fruit and toffee.
Having selected and vatted casks from same six years in both type of casks, Tomatin Distillery manager Graham Eunson, has created two incredible whiskies and an exceptional tasting experience.
