The Balvenie distillery has changed little since it was founded, and single malts continue to be produced in the traditional way, giving these whiskies an exceptional taste. The Balvenie is the only distillery that grows its own barley, applies traditional malting methods and has its own boiler works and coopers. As a result, its whiskies are still among the most handcrafted single malts in Scotland. Cellar master David Stewart works closely with his coopers to make new wooden casks on a regular basis. Each whisky has its own distinctive taste. The whole range has its own distinctive aromatic richness and incomparable honeyed sweetness. Like its sister distillery Glenfiddich, The Balvenie is independently owned by the family of its founder.
