Kilchoman Sanaig, named after an inlet on Islay's rugged Atlantic coast, is a cuvee matured in both sherry and bourbon casks. The high proportion of Oloroso casks gives it a balance of dried fruit, dark chocolate and rich peat smoke.
Nose: Aromatic, smoky peat notes, sweet scents of heather and honey, a hint of sherry. Mouth: Ripe, round, smoky sweetness, rich malty tones with a hint of coffee. Finish: Supple, round, persistent, soft with notes of heather.
Nose: Pungent, oily, spicy molasses notes envelop creosote and smoky herbs. Roasted apples and raisins reveal a softer underside. With water, eucalyptus and menthol appear, while fennel and pine follow.
Mouth: Surprisingly balanced, the sizzling palate leads to peat smoke, coffee gruel and currants. Sweet lemon balm mingles with smoky tangerines, followed by a lively, smoky taste.
Finish: A long, sinuous finish brings subtle notes of vanilla and smoked butter.
A soft, pleasant, lighter-style Speyside single malt, with tropical, fruity notes of ripe peaches and pineapple and impressions of lemon. Fresh, green nose with wisps of smoke, then light, smooth sweetness that balances out on a dry finish.
