Revered by connoisseurs and experts alike, Lagavulin is nicknamed 'the King of Islay'. It's a 'must-have' Scotch Whisky that every connoisseur and enthusiast must have in their collection; one of the world's favorite malt whiskies. Aged in oak casks for at least 16 years, this highly sought-after Single Malt has the huge peaty smoky flavor typical of southern Islay, while offering a richness and dryness that make it a truly interesting whisky.
Nose: Intense with a burst of charcoal, creosote, tar and molasses caramel, with curious herbal notes, such as fennel, celery and green peppers. Once these disappear, there are notes of milk chocolate, anise and wood smoke.
T: Molasses caramel, anise, salted caramel chocolate, eucalyptus, menthol and briarwood, to name but a few. The 'tingling' and peppery mouthfeel continues, with sweeter flavors giving way to more savory notes like charcoal, smoky bacon, toast and tar.
Finish: The aftertaste is long and lingering, with a touch of peppermint and clove.
Nose: Leather, plums, currants and barley malt followed by burnt oak and notes of cinnamon, green apple and black pepper. Smoke, discreet at first, is lifted by aromas of red fruits, creamy briar porridge and a touch of pipe tobacco.
Mouth: European oak is clearly perceptible. Dry and spicy, it offers notes of burnt oak and roasted coffee beans. A sweetness close to candied and dried fruit cake, a hint of black pepper. With a little water, the smoke and fruity cask sweetness intensify, bringing out notes of Apples and pears.
Finish: Smoky malt, glowing charcoal, sea salt and earthy smoke.
Nose: Sweet aromas of ripe fruit and vanilla. Mouth: A smooth texture with notes of honey and sweet spices. Finish: A long, warm finish with notes of oak and dried fruit.
Nose: Intense fragrance of ripe peach and honeysuckle with floral notes of violet and lavender. The counterpart to this perfect balance is conveyed by sweet, spicy notes reminiscent of vanilla, coconut and charred oak.
Mouth: voluminous and almost thick in texture. Aromas of honey, butterscotch and fresh fruit emerge, followed by sweet porridge and toasted oak.
Finish: Woody and spicy, reminiscent of tropical fruit. A hint of leather and beeswax.
Nose: Intensely aromatic, peaty smoke with iodine and seaweed, great rich and complex sweetness.
Mouth: Dry peaty smoke fills the palate with great sweetness but at the same time powerful followed by marine and salty notes with hints of wood.
Finish: Long and elegant, peaty, with lots of salt and seaweed.
