This is the first single malt cask strength whisky in the Lochlea distillery's standard range. It was created by Distillery Manager and Master Blender John Campbell (ex Laphroaig), who took up his post in November 2021. Two different types of cask are used: First fill ex-Bourbon and ex-sherry Oloroso casks. The use of these casks gives 'Lochlea cask Strength' additional, powerful aromas of vanilla, caramel, flowers and dried fruit compared to the standard version. The result is a deep, round flavor profile. The product undergoes no coloring or cold filtering.
