GlenDronach Port Wood is inspired by the historic importation of cask port to Scotland in the 19th century. In the 1800s, port was 'de rigueur', and many of the finest port casks (pipes) traveled from Portugal, along its Douro River, to the wine cellars of Scotland's nobility. Although many years have passed, Portugal's majestic Douro Valley is still renowned for its exceptional port. We have selected some of its finest 'pipes' to house The GlenDronach for a second three-year maturation period.
