The 21-year-old Port Wood Finish is part of Glen Moray's Elgin Heritage range. This Speyside whisky is stored in American oak casks (ex-bourbon) and aged in Port casks from the Portuguese Douro Valley, giving it a smooth, fruity note.
Nose: Tomatin Cask Strength reveals intense notes of ripe fruit, honey and spice, with a touch of vanilla. Feel: On the palate, this Scottish single malt reveals itself to be powerful and warm, with flavors of dried fruit, caramel and oak. Finish: The finish is long and spicy, leaving notes of black pepper and burnt wood on the palate.
This Bruichladdich is extremely creamy, maritime and bright. Full of power and peppery, waxy texture, it shows the robustness of Islay whisky without the peat. And it's a true island single malt, evocative and beautifully coastal and mineral.
Nose: Seductive aromas of ripe fruit, honey and beeswax emerge delicately. Palate: The palate is rich and intense, with notes of juicy pears, creamy vanilla and sweet spices. Finish: The finish is long and warm, leaving a soft sensation of stewed fruit and toasted cereal on the palate.
Nose : Approachable and rich. First polished wood and nuts (toasted hazelnut) dominate, then stewed fruits (baked apples), dried fruits (sweet dates), and soft brown sugar take over. Mossy too, after a while.
Palate : Sweetness and crunchy nuts impress at first, then there’s a smooth, fruity Speyside richness to enjoy. Firm, with a balancing sweetness. Brown sugar and espresso coffee. Warming and pleasant.
Finish : Medium to long, elegantly drying and crisp, completed by a pleasant, sweetly nutty chew-ability.
