The 14-year-old is made from Bourbon casks, then matured for 18 months in Port casks
The Tomatin distillery is located on the eastern edge of the Monadhliath mountains, 315 meters above sea level. The distillery has been officially in existence since 1897, but as early as the 15th century, illegal stills could be found in Tomatin, producing spirits bought by herdsmen bringing their cattle from the highest passes of the Highlands to market in Tomatin. The existence of this distillery attracted consumers and transformed the quiet, isolated village of Tomatin into a dynamic place. The distillery produces around 5,000,000 liters of whisky a year from 12 stills, making it one of Scotland's leading distilleries.

Machir Bay has a lovely balance of vanilla, smoky caramel and rich fruitiness, each contributing to complexity and combining to create a truly unique Islay drama.
Nose : Approachable and rich. First polished wood and nuts (toasted hazelnut) dominate, then stewed fruits (baked apples), dried fruits (sweet dates), and soft brown sugar take over. Mossy too, after a while.
Palate : Sweetness and crunchy nuts impress at first, then there’s a smooth, fruity Speyside richness to enjoy. Firm, with a balancing sweetness. Brown sugar and espresso coffee. Warming and pleasant.
Finish : Medium to long, elegantly drying and crisp, completed by a pleasant, sweetly nutty chew-ability.
