The composition of this refined liqueur made from Scottish herbs, spices and heather honey has remained unchanged since the mid-18th century, and is still a secret today. After his unsuccessful attempt to regain the Scottish throne from the English in 1745, Prince Charles Edward Stuart fled to France. Before he left, however, he offered his recipe to the MacKinnon family. The elixir soon became known as 'Dram Buidheach', the drink that makes you happy.
The Alpine creams from Marzadro represent a typical expression of the Alpine valleys. Thanks to the softness of their flavour and their moderate alcohol content, these liqueurs are particularly enjoyable as a light and pleasantly mild drink.
